Troubleshooting Tips for Taper Candles

Do you have cracks in your taper candles?

If your candles have cracks in the wax, you probably cooled too fast.  Make sure you cool your candle at room temperature or in a warm water bath.  More often than not, straight cooling in a fridge or freezer will also cause cracking.

Does your taper candle have a dull surface?

To get rid of a dull surface on your taper candle, try buffing it with a piece of cloth from a pair of old nylon stockings (or equivalent material). Please make certain you keep your nylon away from an open flame! This buffing should give your candle more of a shine.
