Troubleshooting Tips for Floating CandlesYour candle's not burning as big and bright as you'd like? When your candle isn’t burning as big and bright as you might like then you may have a number of problems to deal with. Let's take a quick look at a few: |
It could be that your wick is too small, too short or too loose. Try a different wick size and see if this makes the difference you're looking for.
It could also be that coloring agents may have clogged your wick. With all candle making, be careful not to get anything on your wick next time you make a candle.
A problem that is quite common, especially when people forget to monitor their thermometers, is that your wax's melting point was too high. The best thing here is to try a lower melt point wax next time.
And finally, it is possible that you used too much stearin or other additives. The rather simple soluition to try here is to use less next time.
